A psychiatrist will examine the Sheridan man accused of shooting another man in the leg and holing up inside a house during a ten-hour standoff with police last month. Judge Michael C. Jansz ordered a mental fitness exam for 55-year old Jeffery Plique this morning. Plique’s charged with aggravated battery and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Plique’s defense lawyer asked for the mental fitness exam and the prosecution agreed. Plique hasn’t entered a plea to the charges. He’s to be in court next month for an update with a judge on the case.
