The LaSalle Celebration of Lights in Rotary Park is starting earlier than usual this year. Mayor Jeff Grove says the drive-thru event starts on Veterans Day because the city is working with more schools this year. It’s the tenth year the city has done the event. Grove says there will be 450 displays with 45 new ones added this year. He says when the display was first set up ten years ago, the city was trying to create a tradition.

People will be able to drive through Monday through Friday from five until nine weekdays and five until ten on the weekends. Some of the displays will include Rudolf The Red Nose Reindeer and a giant snowman. Plus other businesses and schools will have unique displays.
