Federal aid for internet subscribers still going

By WCMY News Nov 6, 2022 | 5:22 AM

The Affordable Connectivity Program is still going on. It’s expected to continue for at least two more years. That’s the federal program to help pay for internet connections for people with lower incomes.

Phyllis Peters with Mediacom says being connected was a big deal during the pandemic for work and school. But it’s been becoming a bigger part of everyone’s lives since before anyone heard of COVID.

If you qualify for other government aid for food, utility bills, or medical care, you may qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program. You can contact your internet provider to find out if it participates.

The ACP can also help pay for a laptop computer. There’s more information about it at this link.
