College Football this weekend

The #16 Fighting Illini will try to move up in the top-25 when they take on Michigan State at Memorial Stadium. Notre Dame faces Clemson, NIU will host Central Michigan, Northwestern versus Ohio State and Illinois State is hosting Youngstown.

 

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to soar over the NFL and remain perfect on the season after their 29-17 road victory over the Houston Texans. The Eagles improved to 8-and-0 for the first time in the franchise’s 90-year history.   Houston is now 1-6-and-1.

 

The Bears defense will have their work cut out for them when they host the high-powered Miami Dolphins at Soldier Field on Sunday.  The Bears have not won a home game against Miami since 1988.

 

The Astros are one win away from winning the World Series.  Houston edged the Phillies 3-2 in Game Five of the Fall Classic in Philadelphia.  The Phillies will look to force a winner-take-all Game Seven when the series shifts back to Houston on Saturday night.  

 

The White Sox have officially hired Pedro Grifol to be their manager. Grifol has been with the Kansas Royals coaching staff since 2013.  He helped the team win the World Series in 2015. 

 

 The Blackhawks fought hard for a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings at United Center.  Jonathan Toews knocked in the game-winner within the first two minutes of the extra frame.  The Hawks visit Winnipeg tomorrow. 

 

The Bulls will try to win their third consecutive game when they visit the Boson Celtics at TD Garden tonight.  The Bulls beat the Hornets on Wednesday to improve to 5-and-4.  Meanwhile, the Celtics come into the game with a 4-and-3 record.

 

 

It’s a winner-take-all race in Phoenix this weekend as NASCAR’s top four drivers will battle for the title.  The “Championship Four” will race 312 laps on the one-mile track on Sunday.
