The Astros are making history at the World Series.  Houston’s pitching staff combined to no-hit the Phillies en route to a 5-0 win in Game Four in Philadelphia.  The Astros combined to score all their runs in the fifth inning as they evened the series at two-games apiece. The series stays in Philly for Game Five tonight. 

 

The Chicago Bulls had six players score in the double-digits in a 106-88 win over the Charlotte Hornets at United Center.  The Bulls led by as many as 20 points in the win.  Javonte Green led the way with 17 points off the bench. The Bulls improved to 5-and-4 with the victory and will visit the Celtics tomorrow.

 

The Blackhawks conclude their three-game homestand with a game against the L.A. Kings at the United Center tonight.  The Hawks extended their losing streak to four games with a loss to the Islanders on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are 4-4-and-2  this season, while the Kings are 6-6.

Results yesterday in the NHL, The Maple Leafs defeated the Flyers and Penguins fell to the Sabres. 

 

The Philadelphia Eagles are placing their undefeated record on the line as they meet the Texans in Houston on Thursday Night Football tonight. The Eagles improved to 7-and-oh after beating the Steelers 35-13 last weekend. The Texans are still in search of their first win at home and are 1-5-and-1 on the year.   

 

Last night in college football, The NIU Huskies lost to Central Michigan 35-22.

 

Exhibition college basketball action yesterday, Notre Dame beat Xavier of Louisiana, Northwestern dominated Quincy, Southern Illinois crushed Eureka and Bradley took down Illinois Wesleyan.

 

Over in the PGA, Viktor Hovland will be looking to defend his title at this week’s World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in Mexico.

 

Local Sports

Shepherd competed with Plano in Girls Junior High Basketball. The 7th Graders won 25-17, Kennedy Kane led the way with 21 points. The 8th Grade Lady Rams also were winners 37-17. Ashlynn Ganiere, Reese Purcell and Meredith Waldron each scored 9 points in the victory.
