Up to 2,900 Ameren customers in the Ottawa, Naplate, and Marseilles area had a power outage this morning. A spokeswoman says as of about 7:30 this morning, there were still 165 customers waiting for the power to be on again. The expected restoration time is 9:30am.
Strong winds are blamed for taking down a power line. The outage started at 2:40 this morning. For some people, electricity was off for a few seconds or minutes.
