Bond reduced for one defendant in drug sting shooting case

A judge says the crime a Streator woman’s accused of being involved in is significant, so he won’t lower her bond nearly as much as she wants. A lawyer for 26-year old accused drug dealer Alaina Cravatta says she’s a single mom of three kids, has a job, and is a lifelong area resident. All those reasons that she should stick around and show up for court didn’t persuade Judge Michael C. Jansz to cut bond from $1 million to just $15,000 today. He cut it to $500,000.

Her alleged partner in crime, 20-year old Courtney Perkins, is accused of shooting at the police officer who arrested her during a sting a month ago. Cravatta has a December trial date. Perkins’s bond is $4 million and his trial’s scheduled for January.
