With less than four weeks before voting ends, local abortion rights supporter Nicole O’Shea organized another demonstration by Ottawa’s Washington Park.
About a dozen people were there on the abortion rights side. There were no opponents.
O’Shea and organizer Rachel Dutton think the rainy weather earlier put a crimp in turnout. On the abortion rights side, there have been several dozen people at a time. An organizer yesterday said there were 300 at one. There have often been one to two dozen opponents, sometimes on the same sidewalk and sometimes across the street.
