Drivers won’t be able to get onto Interstate 39 from Interstate 80 for two weeks. The Illinois Department of Transportation says starting today; the loop ramps to get on Interstate 39 will be closed while crews will patch 36 miles of the interstate in LaSalle County from the Marshall County line just south of the Lee County line. Work also includes pavement marking and shoulder reconstruction. People driving on Interstate 80 westbound to Interstate 39 southbound will have to exit onto IL 251. Anyone using Interstate 80 eastbound to Interstate 39 northbound will be detoured to IL 178. The loop ramps will reopen at 6 am Friday.
