Weekly COVID report: County below 1,000 current cases; one additional death

LaSalle County has dropped below 1,000 current COVID-19 cases for the first time since the first week of May. The LaSalle County Health Department reported 969 current cases this week. There were only 92 new cases and 182 recoveries. That means there have been 34,288 total cases so far with 33,319 recoveries. But the health department also reported one more death from the coronavirus. It was a woman in her 70’s. She is the 492nd person in the county to succumb to the virus. That also leave the county at a 1.43% mortality rate.
