The city of LaSalle will support and participate in the application for the Federal Rail Administration’s Rail Corridor Identification and Development Program. It’s for the Peoria to Chicago passenger rail service that could come through LaSalle County. The city council approved a resolution to support the project at Monday’s meeting. LaSalle and Peru will pay $8,000 in the future to participate in the program. Ottawa is expected to pay $16,000. Utica is expected to pay $5,000. The North Central Illinois Council of Governments got $310,000 in July to figure out where stations should be placed.
