Two dogs showed up in Ottawa Tuesday for OSF Healthcare’s Blessing of the Animals. Deacon Ron Wackerlin first blessed Resident Annette Barr’s Beagle named Lou.
A second dog names Maddy was the other dog that was blessed. Afterward, both animals got a certificate and a treat. Wackerlin says blessing animals has been a tradition at the local churches for years.He also says St. Francis holds a special place in the church.
He also says pet owners love coming to the blessing.
There was also be blessing held earlier at OSF in Streator.
