Streator’s city-run ambulance service starts at 8am today. AMT’s service is ending. The company says it can’t afford to continue providing ambulance service from billing alone. Streator’s city council said it couldn’t afford payments of up to $700,000 per year to keep AMT. City Hall spent most of this year figuring out the path toward a city ambulance service.
