Weekly COVID report: One additional death, current cases fall for eighth straight week

There was one additional death from COVID-19 in LaSalle County this week. It was a man in his 80’s. He is the 491st death in the county. That means county at a 1.43% mortality rate. The LaSalle County Health Department also reported that current cases continue to fall for an eighth straight week. There were 1,059 reported. There were 116 new cases for a total of 34,196 so far. But it’s also the eighth week where recoveries outnumber new cases. The health department reported 243 recoveries for a total of 33,137.
