Instead of receiving prison time, two Ottawa men are going to the Illinois Department of Health and Human Services because of their mental fitness. 30-year old Sean T. Przybylski was accused of vehicular invasion after he held a knife to someone in a car outside of a fast food restaurant in Ottawa last year. He was also charged with aggravated battery after he stabbed a woman at her Ottawa home last year. In a stipulated bench trial, Judge Cynthia Raccuglia found him not guilty by reason of insanity. In the other case, 33-year old Daniel J. Zeal was found mentally unfit to stand trial right in Judge H. Chris Ryan’s courtroom last Friday. He’s accused of residential burglary and battery from two incidents in July. It could be about a year before he could be ready to stand trial.
