The Mendota man accused of strangling a puppy to death earlier this month has pleaded not guilty. Bond was also reduced for 20-year old Lucas Ramey. Judge H. Chris Ryan dropped his bond from $50,000 to $20,000. Ramey is scheduled to be back in court in November. LaSalle police allegedly found the puppy wrapped up in a garbage bag at a home in the 500 block of Bucklin Street on September 2nd. Police say Ramey allegedly told them that he did it because he was tired of the dog defecating around the house. He was indicted by a grand jury on the charge Tuesday.
