Things are looking good for this Saturday’s Labor of Love through the United Way of Eastern LaSalle County. Labor of Love is an annual program that helps repair homes for those who might not be able to do it themselves because of mobility or financial troubles. Executive Director Shelli Ocepek says she is still looking for one more house captain for one of the houses the organization will be working on. Ocepek says house captains had their last full meeting Monday.
She says she is still looking for some more licensed plumbers and people who work in doing heating and air conditioning. Volunteers will meet at St. Columba Church Saturday at seven and will go out to different homes in Ottawa, Naplate, Marseilles, Sheridan, and Seneca starting at eight.
