An Ottawa man who allegedly barricaded himself in a house in the 1700 block of Sycamore Street last Tuesday has been taken to the LaSalle County Jail. Detective Corporal Kevin Reynolds says 54-year old Benny Landeroz was taken into custody Monday because of the incident. It was for an alleged probation violation. He had been in protective custody. Court records show that Landeroz wasn’t able to make it to a status hearing Friday in a felony case because his lawyer said he was in the hospital. Reynolds says Landeroz allegedly barricaded himself inside the house and threatened to harm police. After negotiations were unsuccessful at first, they were eventually able to get him out of the house without any trouble.
