On WCMY, The Marquette Crusaders lost 40-25 on the road in Chicago to Hope Academy.
On 95.3 JackFM, Unfortunately The Ottawa Pirates lost at King Field on Homecoming Night 41-14 to Kaneland.

Ottawa won for the second year in a row at the 12 team Mendota Modified Ryder Cup at Mendota Golf Club. The duo of Jonathan Cooper & Seth Cooper, partners Drake Kaufman & Alex Billings and team of Chandler Creedon & Jacob Armstrong led the Pirates in victory. LP finished in 2nd place with partners Carter Fenza and Coleman Rundle leading the Cavaliers. Princeton placed 3rd and St Bede finished 4th.
Serena celebrated Homecoming in soccer with a 7-0 victory over Yorkville Christian. Camden Figgins scored three goals and had an assist, Hudson Stafford scored two goals and an assist, Richie Armour and Eduardo Moncada each added a goal for the Huskers.
Shepherd competed with Bureau Valley in girls Junior High Basketball. The 7th grade team lost 25-10. Kennedy Kane was the Rams leading scorer with 4 points. The 8th graders won 38-21, leading the way for the Lady Rams was Ashlynn Ganiere with 21 points and 5 steals.
Yesterday on WCMY, The White Sox gave up three runs in the eighth inning of a 4-1 loss to the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field. The Sox have been eliminated from the AL Central race and are now 76-and-77. The Southsiders visit the Twins tomorrow.
In other news, the team announced Tony La Russa will not manage the team for the rest of the season as he continues to deal with health issues.
Patrick Wisdom homered as the Cubs took down the Pirates 8-3 in Pittsburgh. The North-Siders will send Marcus Stroman to the mound against the Phillies tomorrow night.
The St. Louis Cardinals weren’t able to muster much offense in a 4-1 loss to the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The Cardinals lead the NL Central by six-and-a-half games over Milwaukee.
The Bears defense came up big against the Houston Texans in their 23-20 victory at Soldier Field. The score was tied at 20 with just over a minute left when linebacker Roquan Smith intercepted the Texans. Kicker Cairo Santos nailed the 30-yard game-winning field goal as time expired. The Bears improved to 2-1 and will visit the New York Giants this Sunday.
On Sunday Night Football, The Broncos capitalized on three turnovers and a safety to beat the 49ers 11-10 in Denver.
Results in college football, Notre Dame were winners over North Carolina, Northwestern lost to Miami of Ohio and Northern Illinois lost to Kentucky.

The NFL confirmed that singer Rihanna will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show this season. Super Bowl 56 takes place at State Farm Stadium on February 12th in Glendale, Arizona.
