Two bids sent in for a new parking lot in the 200 block of E. Walnut Street in Oglesby were higher than the original estimated cost. Advanced Asphalt Company gave a bid for about $74,000 and SKI Seal Coating and Maintenance sent in a bid for about $79,000. Mayor Dominic Rivara says the original estimate was for about $45,000. The city council ended up rejecting both of them. Commissioner Jason Curran says the city could try to get bids again in the spring.
