LaSalle Alderman Jerry Reynolds say the Maytag Building is up to building safety codes. Now CL Enterprises is waiting for bids from a contractor so the building could be turned into a restaurant and brewery. Reynolds has been the liaison between the city and the company.
But Reynolds says if the bids are too high, they will look for other companies. Alderman Jim Bacidore says he believes that CL Enterprises isn’t telling Reynolds enough information about the project. He has expressed frustration with the company before because they are not working quicker on getting the project done. He doesn’t want the Maytag Building to turn into what’s happened with the Kaskaskia Hotel because he says nothing is getting done there. He says he wants city council members to write questions for the company so they can be answered when Reynolds meets with CL Enterprises again next week.
