A car hit a horse southwest of Ottawa Friday night. LaSalle County deputies say the horse died. Its owner, 85-year old Barney M. Erickson of Ottawa, is accused of violating a law against letting domestic animals run around loose. The car driver, 35-year old Estefanie G. Hernandez-Ramirez of Zion, was hurt. She went to St. Elizabeth Hospital. The crash happened at a spot on Illinois 71 about a mile west of the Deer Park Blacktop. It was hard enough to smash out the car’s windshield.
