Monkeypox/Smallpox vaccine available for some at LaSalle County Health Department

Some LaSalle County residents are eligible for a vaccine that prevents monkeypox and smallpox that the LaSalle County Health Department received. The health department says it’s not for mass vaccination but for certain people who are qualified. The Illinois Department of Public Health says it’s for anyone that’s had close contact with someone who has monkeypox. It’s also available for sexually active people who have been or are in a gay, bisexual or other same gender loving man as well as sexually active trans, non-binary or gender nonconforming individuals.
