LaSalle County plans up to $260,000 in playground equipment improvements at Catlin and Shabbona parks. Parks Director Ken Henze (HEN-zee) is also asking for a grant from an equipment maker to get more. He says it’s important to have good things for kids to play on.
Some of the playground equipment in the parks now could have been installed more than 50 years ago and some is just very plain and basic. And it’s not made for kids with disabilities.
