More than five-and-a-half miles of LaSalle County Highway 2 in the northern part of the county will be rebuilt next year. County Highway Engineer Don Ernat says it’ll be made into a Class III truck route. That’s for trucks up to 80,000 pounds. The $1.9 million project will be paid for from county and state funds with a little more than a quarter coming from the state. The stretch to be done is from Somonauk to County Highway 22 northwest of Sheridan.
