Streator could approve ambulance service call prices and intergovernmental agreements

The Streator city council could approve an ordinance next Wednesday for how much it will cost for basic and advance medical calls for their ambulance service. Fire Chief Gary Bird recommends that basic calls should cost $1,250 while advance calls would cost $1,500. City Treasurer Julie Lucas says the rates are recommended by Northern Illinois Billing Services. But she also says City Manager David Plyman and Gary Bird should keep track of prices and maybe change prices in the future.

The city council could also approve an intergovernmental agreement with Long Point so they could supply them ambulance services. City Manager David Plyman says the city could also help Redding Township, but they are only willing to pay $25,000 for ambulance service.

Plyman says with current pricing models, the city should generate about $194,000 in revenue. The city was also going to work with Ransom and Cornell. But Plyman says Ransom is forming an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Dwight and Cornell will work with the city of Pontiac.
