Weekly COVID report: First death from virus in six weeks, current cases still down

For the first time in six weeks, there was one death reported from COVID-19 in LaSalle County. It was a woman in her 90’s.
She is the 487th death so far. The LaSalle County Health Department also reported that current cases are down for a sixth week. There were 1,330 this week. Recoveries outnumbered new cases as well. The health department reported 183 new cases and 195 recoveries. So far the county has 33,811 total cases with 32,481 recoveries. LaSalle County has also received the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine.
