Yesterday afternoon on WCMY, The White Sox beat the Mariners 9-6 at T-Mobile Park. Eloy Jimenez went three-for-four with a double, a home run, and three RBIs. Aaron Bummer picked up his first win in relief, and Liam Hendriks earned his 31st save. The Southsiders are two games behind Cleveland in the AL Central with a 69-and-68 record.
The Cubs left nine men on base in a 7-1 loss to the Reds at Wrigley Field. The North-Siders rattled off 12 hits, but went just one-for-ten with runners in scoring position. Javier Assad was charged with his first loss after giving up four runs in five-and-a-third innings. The Cubs fall to 57-and-79, and will host the San Francisco Giants tomorrow.
The Cardinals scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Nationals 6-5 at Busch Stadium. Tommy Edman hit a two-run walk-off double to end the game after the Cards trailed 5-1 entering the inning. Paul Goldschmidt hit his 35th home run of the season, and Jake Woodford picked up his fourth win in relief. The Cardinals improve to 81-and-56, and they lead the NL Central by nine-and-a-half games over Milwaukee. Adam Wainwright starts for the St Louis against Washington today.
The Chicago Sky will try to advance to the WNBA Finals tonight at Wintrust Arena. The Sky host the Connecticut Sun in the fifth and final game of the Semifinals.
The NFL regular season will kick off tonight as the defending Super Bowl Champion Los Angeles Rams will raise the championship banner at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood as they host the Buffalo Bills. The Chicago Bears begin the season on Sunday when they host the San Francisco forty-niners at Soldier Field.

The Ottawa Varsity team defeated Rochelle and Sandwich in a Conference triangular matchup. Drake Kaufman, Jonathan and Seth Cooper led the way for the Pirates.
The Ottawa JV team also won over Rochelle and Sandwich, Adam Swanson and Colt Bryson led the way in the victory.
Seneca hosted Manteno, Dwight and Henry at The Creek Golf Course. Leading the way for the Irish was Grant Siegel.
Ottawa were winners over Streator in varsity tennis. Emma Cushing and Layne Krug won in doubles. Partners Rylee O Fallon/ Jenna Smithmeyer, the team of Isabel Heimsoth/ Emma Walker and the duo of Mika Moreland and Mckenzie Eichelkraut all won in doubles.
The JV squad also defeated Streator. Gabby Cooper and Zulee Moreland won in singles. The team of Rylee Harsted and Delayne Coffey, the duo of Yaquelin Hernandez-Solis and Selena Gomez and partners Brooklyn Byone and Perla Gutierrez all won in doubles.
Ottawa lost at home 6-2 to Kaneland in soccer. Evan Snook and Christian Solis each scored a goal in the Pirate loss.
Also in soccer, Serena dominated Indian Creek 10- 0. Tanner Faivre was a scoring machine with five goals, Camden Figgins also added two goals in the Huskers win.
In Volleyball, Serena defeated Plano in three sets. Paige Sexton had 17 kills, 4 aces and Sophie Thompson finished with 22 kills, 4 aces for the Lady Huskers.
