LaSalle City Building Inspector Andy Bacidore says the Maytag Building is way more structurally sound than it was before.
One structural engineer with the city and another with CL Enterprises worked together to place a metal frame between two brick corners of the building which were not stable. Bacidore says the one of the walls from a different building before the engineers put the corners together. He says the only thing left to do is replacing grout in other parts of the wall. The city also wants to know if the company has a new contractor yet. That’s the next thing Alderman Jerry Reynolds will hopefully find out by next meeting. He’s the liaison between the city and CL Enterprises.

City Building Inspector Andy Bacidore explained how the two engineers were able to use a metal frame to place into the corners of two brick walls to make the Maytag Building safer.
