The oldest congregation in Streator is celebrating the 100 year anniversary of its third church building. Park Presbyterian Church members were in two other buildings previously after being founded 164 years ago. Church Member Larry Tombaugh says the history of the church is interesting since it was the first one founded. There were a lot of changes in the congregation.
He says the celebration starts on Saturday, September 10th at the Park Place Conference Center with a free lunch at 11:30.
After lunch, a Fun Days celebration will begin in front of the church on Vermillion St. from one to three. The weekend event will end on Sunday with a 10am service in the church’s sanctuary honoring long-time members.
