Update: The LaSalle County Coroner’s Office has identified one of the victims as 59-year old Robert E. Waters. He died in the explosion. A woman was flown to a hospital in Rockford and died there. Foul play is not suspected in the explosion.
Two people are dead after a house explosion in northern rural LaSalle Saturday morning. LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss says the house was located in the 3100 block of E 3rd Rd. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated.The names of the two people are not being released yet at this time. Diss thanked emergency departments from LaSalle, Mendota, Oglesby, Spring Valley, Troy Grove, Utica, and Ladd for responding to the incident. He also thanked the Salvation Army and Hy-Vee grocery store for sending water and food.
