The approximately two dozen people whose apartments burned up in the fire in Mendota last week can get more help. The Mendota Elks Lodge and Meyers Furniture of Mendota are providing beds, sheets, pillows, box springs, and related items. People should call Dale Meyers at 815-539-6263 to make arrangements. The Mendota police station and City Hall are also offering food, clothing, help finding places to stay, and other things people may need to get by.
