Ottawa going ahead with parking change on Madison St. side of courthouse

Ottawa City Hall is going ahead with parking changes by the downtown LaSalle County courthouse. An announcement issued Thursday says angled parking will be put in starting Monday in the 100 block of W. Madison between LaSalle and Court streets. Traffic and parking will be limited on the south side of that block for two weeks. Driving will be allowed after the workday is done, but parking will be blocked around the clock.

The intent is to have parking for judges in those angled slots. This is part of the plan to rework Court St., where the judges park now, to have parking on one side. Former mayor Bob Eschbach criticized the City Council earlier this month for not being more open about that plan.
