A fire in the 800 block of Main St. in Mendota yesterday destroyed the insides of some buildings, including several apartments. Fire departments from more than a dozen communities helped Mendota fire fighters put it out. The people who lived there got out and weren’t hurt. It wasn’t a raging fire, but it was stubborn. Fighting the fire took from early afternoon to mid-evening.
