None of the people who lived in the downtown Mendota apartments that burned were hurt. But those apartments are damaged beyond anything the people can live in again. Mendota area churches and the American Red Cross are helping people through the Good Samaritan Fund.
Residents of 812 Main St. can go to the police station to find out how to get help including food, gas, a place to stay, school supplies, and clothing. Clothing is laid out in the Mendota City Council chambers for people to help themselves to. And donations are being taken at the Mendota Police Department.
