Carus LLC says a $20 million investment at its Peru sodium permanganate production facility will make it more efficient and it will produce more. The company expects production at the expanded facility to start by the end of the year. The compound is used in water treatment and soil cleanup. The Carus company started in 1915. Chair Inga Carus hopes the company’s still around in another hundred years.
