Oglesby seeking bids to construct E. Walnut Street parking lot

Bids are being sought by the Oglesby City Council for the parking lot on E. Walnut St. The company chosen would construct the city owned parking lot. In the previous months, residents were asking the council for a parking lot on the east side. But after it was approved, Mayor Dominic Rivara didn’t want the lot to have an alley exit because it would affect other residents. Several residents agreed. So the lot will have twelve spaces instead of the original sixteen proposed.
