Foundation providing grant money looking to expand services in Seneca

The Seneca Civic Fund is looking for nonprofits who need grant money to provide services. The fund was created by Peg Davis who was a lifetime resident of the Seneca area. The organization has given out grants to different organizations like the Seneca Food Pantry. Community Foundation of Grundy County Executive Director Julianne Buck says the organization owns farm land from Davis and the money from the grain profits can be made into grant opportunities. But Buck says this next round of grants should go beyond the food pantries and go toward direct social services.

She says the organizations have to be a 501c3 or local units of governments like libraries, schools, health departments, and fire districts. There can be a one-time event for the services but Buck says they can also be weekly or monthly. Organizations who want to apply should provide services to seniors, children, and people with disabilities. More information about the civic fund can be found by clicking here.
