UPDATE: The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department says the person has been “has been potentially located and identified”. Deputies will continue to patrol the area. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 815-433-2161.
An alert from the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Dept. says a man with a shotgun is on the loose near Ransom. He was last seen southeast of the community and is believed to be in a cornfield. He’s described as Hispanic and wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. If you see him, don’t confront him. Call 911 instead.
If you don’t have a reason to be in that area, avoid it. Expect some traffic control or restrictions in the area.
The alert was sent to cell phones in this area a little before 1pm this afternoon. WCMY News confirmed it with the Sheriff’s Dept.
