Oglesby city commissioners and the mayor feel some of the increased revenue from video gambling license fees should go to parks and downtown beautification. Just how much, they’re still working out. Commissioner Terry Eutis thinks 75% is a good figure. Mayor Dominic Rivara thinks 50% is better so there’s money for other projects. Raising the license fee from $25 to $250 per terminal would raise an estimated $16,000 per year. The plan is to raise the fee in three steps over two years.
