Former LaSalle County State’s Attorney Todd Martin told the County Board today, he never imagined he’d resign from the job he started working hard to get more than two years ago. But the chance to become a judge is something he couldn’t turn down.
The Board unanimously appointed Joe Navarro to be State’s Attorney. He served in the job from 1988 to 1996 and returned to the office after Martin was elected in 2020 to work for him. Navarro’s appointment lasts until the term ends in late 2024.
Navarro’s first duty in the office was conducting a grand jury session this afternoon. He says that’s why he kept his talk to the County Board short.
