Nancy Johnson, 80, of Ottawa, IL, passed away Saturday, July 30th at her home with family at her side.
Visitation will be Friday, August 5th at Ottawa Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church with Monsignor Mark Merdian officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Columba Cemetery. Pallbearers are Nancy’s grandchildren.
Nancy was born to Joseph and Dominica (Taliani) Bach on October 3, 1941, in Spring Valley, IL. She married Don Johnson on September 16th, 1961, at St. Anthony’s Church in Spring Valley.
Nancy volunteered the last 30+ years at St. Columba Church and was a member of St. Columba Church and their Altar & Rosary Society. Nancy was known for her selfless giving and volunteering where and whenever needed. She loved being a “Nana” to all.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Don, Three children: Paula (Jon) Hamley of Chesapeake, VA; Pam (Dave) Terry of Yorkville, IL; Jeff (Kerri) Johnson of Morris. She is also survived by four sisters: Betty Stockdell, Jean Just, Eleanor Wozniak all of Peru, IL; Marie Harrison of Bureau, IL and two brothers: David Bach of South Carolina; Paul (Debbie) Bach of Dixon, IL. She is survived by seven grandchildren: Pat (Liz) Terry of Seneca, IL; Michael (Betsy) Terry of Plano, IL; Ashley (Trevin) Seul of Seneca, IL; Lexie Hamley of Chesapeake, VA; Aaron, Brennan and Brycen Johnson all of Morris, IL. Additionally, she is survived by nine great-grandchildren: Easton, Aidah, Joelson, Elsie, Isleigh, Maverick, Eliah, Ryne and Audie.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Bach; three sisters: Caroline Farrell, Julia Chorzempa and Lena Glynn.
