Larry Smith of Somonauk gets another two-year term as the LaSalle County Republican Party chairman. This week’s leadership election put Larry Langston of Serena in the vice chair’s spot, Tom Krieger of Streator in the second vice chair’s spot, and Teresa Schmidt of Mendota in the secretary’s job. The party chose Steve Aubry of Marseilles for treasurer, Charles Durban of Grand Ridge for parliamentarian, and Dennis Corbin of Dayton as Sergeant at Arms. Smith will also represent the 16th Congressional District in state Republican Party policy making. Jan Weber was chosen from the 14th District. LaSalle County Democrats also held leadership elections this week. We’re still waiting for the results.
