NCICG to figure out where train stations should go for commuter service

To advance the commuter rail prospects for LaSalle County, the North Central Illinois Council of Governments is getting $310,000 from the state to figure out the logistics. NCICG Executive Director Kevin Lindeman says that’ll involve determining where the train stations can go. And you can’t put them just anywhere. Each stop needs room for everything a train station needs, such as sidewalks, parking, and closeness to the rail line.

Feasibility study results announced last week say the area can support commuter rail as part of a service between Peoria and Chicago.
