Traffic in Marseilles is back to normal after a gas main break Tuesday morning. Police Chief Brian Faber says the break happened about ten minutes before seven Tuesday morning at the intersection of Commercial and Main Streets where the realignment project is happening.
Faber says traffic was rerouted around the area while Nicor Gas fixed the broken gas main. No traffic was allowed over the Illinois River Bridge while the gas main was being fixed. Faber also says no one was evacuated from the area because of the break. Workers for the realignment project got back to work after the break was fixed.
