Streator contracts with Connecting Point for computer maintenance

The Streator City Council approved signing a contract with Connecting Point Computer Center in Peru to help maintain the city’s computers. The city’s I.T specialist Eric Isermann is retiring after fourteen and a half years. City Manager David Plyman says the company has worked for the city before.

He says it will cost the city about $25,000 annually. But it was important to get the contract because the city is replacing some accounting software and Connecting Point will be able to help.

Another company from Pontiac could have done the work, but Plyman says it would have cost the city more and they weren’t familiar with the city’s hardware .
