The cause of a fire in the 600 block of Division St in Ottawa was deemed to be an accident. Fire Chief Brian Bressner says when firefighters arrived Wednesday afternoon; they found a small porch fire on the E. Main St side of the house that extended from the porch to the interior wall of the first-floor apartment.
The department was able to get the fire under control in about twenty-five minutes. No one was hurt during the fire. The estimated damage to the residence has not been made available. Ottawa Firefighters also got assistance from the Wallace Fire Department, Marseilles Ambulance Service, and the Grand Ridge Fire Department.
