LaSalle County Board Chairman Don Jensen still wants to work out a friendly solution with Ottawa City Hall on where to put a generator outside the downtown courthouse. It’s too big for the roof and the Ottawa Historic Preservation Commission thinks it’ll be too ugly for the courthouse lawn.

The board talked about the conflict yesterday. So did the commission.

Some County Board members say it’s time to do something and let the city fight the county in court. If it does, a judge would most likely have to weigh the county government’s need to conduct certain business and the city government’s right to manage appearances.
