Jose Abreu and Andrew Vaughn each drove in a run for the South-Siders. Outfielder Eloy Jimenez exited the game with leg tightness. The Sox improve to 43-and-45, and they trail the Twins by five games for first place in the AL Central.
The Cubs’ losing streak is up to six games following a 7-1 setback to the Baltimore Orioles at Wrigley Field. Rafael Ortega drove in the Cubs only run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. Justin Steele was charged with his sixth loss after allowing three earned runs and one unearned run in six innings. The 34-and-54 Cubs turn to Keegan Thompson against the Mets tonight.
The Cardinals blew a 6-0 lead in a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers at Busch Stadium. St. Louis surrendered all seven runs in the final three innings of the game. The 48-and-43 Cardinals remain two games back of Milwaukee for first place in the NL Central. Dakota Hudson starts for the Cards against the Dodgers tonight.

It was officially announced yesterday, The USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier will host a college basketball game on Veteran’s Day, between Gonzaga and Michigan State. The game will be played on the deck of the carrier with only members of the military in attendance. This will be the third time an aircraft carrier will host a college basketball game in San Diego.
