Marseilles approves purchasing electricity contract for city facilities

By WCMY News Jul 14, 2022 | 5:27 AM

The Marseilles City Council is looking again for bids that would offer the city better electric rates. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck says some of the city’s electric bills have doubled over the last year. E-Quantum Consulting Principal Mike Ellis will help the city sign the best contract they can get. It will be for six months.

Hollenbeck says Dynegy Energy is offering the best kilowatt hours, but no matter what happens electric rates are still going up. The contract would cover 27 citywide facilities.
